The Internet - A Sweepstake Bonanza

At one time, entering a sweepstake was the result of finding a ballot in the newspaper, a magazine, or even clipped out of a grocery flyer. And while you still see some of those today, fewer people are using them, when they have the entire Internet to surf for the best sweepstakes online.

Because “real life” sweepstakes may not seem as popular, does not mean they are easier to win. Quite often the ballot you see in a magazine is duplicated in other media, and on the web page of the sponsoring company who is promoting a brand name, or celebrating a particular product anniversary. That means more entries from multiple sources.

But there are ways of winning, if you take the word of people who have made entering sweepstakes their full-time job. Most of these “professionals”, will cast their expert eyes at the sweepstakes online, identify those with the most valuable prizes, and the best chances of winning, then settle down to enter as many times as they can.

You can now find message boards, blogs, and bulletin boards filled with men and women who are willing to share their strategies and techniques for winning. They’ll tell you which contests are worth entering, and which aren’t. What sweepstake has a trip you’d really want to go on, and which ones are actually offering only the bare bones of transportation in the fine print.

Web sites by the hundreds have sprung up, dedicated entirely to listing current sweepstakes by category of entry, prizes, and deadlines. For anyone with the time and temperament to track down their specific areas of interest, they may come off the big winner of a sweepstake online.
