Does Your Food Contain The Nutrition You Need?

If you’re eating properly from the four basic food groups, then food nutrition should not be a concern. However, some people who are intolerant of certain foods such as dairy items because of the lactose, must replace the beneficial elements of that food group, including proteins.

A popular source of protein is legumes. While this is the French word that covers all vegetables, in North America it is generally accepted as meaning beans. Legumes can replace meat in many dishes for those who prefer a vegetarian diet, as well.

Chemical sensitivities, and an overall concern for the environment, means that more and more people are seeking to fulfill their food nutrition needs, by choosing organic foods, many of which they purchase from health food stores.

A health food store generally specializes in grains, flours, spices and other products that have been grown naturally and without pesticides. Depending on the size of the store, it may also be possible to purchase baked products made with unbleached wheat, and fresh produce from organic food growers.

Even people whose food nutrition is satisfactory, will seek out health food stores as being sources of “pure” products, because many consumers find that foods or ingredients for foods grown without the chemical interference of man, has more flavor.

People who are interested in organic food as part of, or the majority of their diet, can get a lot of free information about the benefits and drawbacks, from the Internet. Health food stores will also offer free pamphlets, flyers and recipes, using the organically grown products that they sell.

Good food nutrition may come from four food groups, but those food groups come from many sources, all of which can be important to your diet and health.
