Beware of Bulk Mail Freebie Offers

Many times, well more than many times, there are offers for free stuff that will come in your bulk mail folders. Just today I opened my bulk mail and found free offers for a laptop, I-pod, a $500 Target gift certificate, and a free $1000 TJ Maxx gift card. These offers seem too good to be true and if you do a little research you will find that they are. There are ways to get free things off the Internet but pretty much all of the time the stuff will not be worth a significant amount of money. That makes sense as why would a company give away free stuff when it is worth hundreds or even thousands o dollars? Take this to heart as by looking into many of the free offers in your bulk mail you will see that you have to end up paying money to get a chance at the free item. Now if you have to pay money its not really free is it?

Many of the free offers for items that are worth a significant amount of money will take you to many pages that has many offers from various companies. There will be the offer and then next to it a yes or no box you fill in to say you are interested or are not interested. If you fill out no on all the boxes the last page will say that you MUST fill out at least tow of the offers to get the free item. By signing up for these you generally have to give your financial information because you have to buy something. Many times people still do this and they forget they signed up and money is taken from their account every month. This money adds up. This is one reason that companies do this is that they know a lot of people will forget and end up paying a lot of money. You can look into these “free offers” yourself but just remember the golden rule when it comes to freebies, “If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.”

So you can check for things in your bulk mail folder as there will be many attractive offers for free things. But usually what you will get when opening e-mails and offers in your bulk folder are bogus offers, “free” offers where you end up paying money, or, worst case scenario, a computer virus. Because of this don’t be tempted by the offers but just erase your bulk mail folder whenever you can because 99 times out of 100 nothing good will come of it.
