A Man s Health Is More Than Just Diet

Not so long ago, the idea of a man health magazine, would have been laughable. But today, more and more men are becoming aware of health issues that affect them specifically, and in the long run, affect all those around them, including their families.

Thanks to a more open attitude towards the illness that can affect a man, health resources have sprung up that address their individual concerns, and those that are potential problems for all men.

Surprisingly, men have bowed to the focus that many a man health magazine has put on diet. The reduction of fats and cholesterol is a major item in dealing with cardiac disease, one of the leading killers in our nation, and one that affects more men at a younger age, than it does women.

Exercise is not as much of a problem for men as for women, since for a man, health that comes with their long term-interest in playing sports benefits them without their actually going out and participating in something purely for its physical advantages. However, those in sedentary jobs, find it harder to motivate themselves to get out and get going, something that a man magazine may have suggestions for overcoming.

With the new emphasis on overall health, gyms are enjoying an upswing in popularity for everything from racket ball to weightlifting. Just a few years ago, if you mentioned health spa, a man would run as fast as they could. Now women are having to share the time and space with men who are suddenly getting a new perspective on how being healthy, can make them feel good.

But not all men pay regular attention to their health. It can take something as small as a free blood pressure test at a mall, to get them thinking. Most of these clinics will also have free brochures about other man health issues including heart disease and prostate cancer.
