Screensavers for your PC, are a little like curtains for your window. They can cover up things for when you’re “not home”, or they can be a decorative accessory that livens up the surrounding environment.

The cartoon/comic section enjoys a lot of traffic, due in part to the loyal followers of Anime. This wildly popular cartoon-like world is the creation of Japanese filmmakers, working from the own comics. It’s a very distinctive and different style from American cartoon artwork, including the exaggerated facial expressions, minimal movement of characters’ features, and stylized backgrounds that can move or change while the character remains static.

Another sought after prize, is the free Harry Potter screensaver. As likely the most popular series of books since Anne of Green Gables, each new book release creates an increased demand for more free screensavers, both static and animated. Not just a few scenes from the movies will do, either. Fans want their favorite characters, their favorite storylines, and the most popular magic moments, for their PCs.

And of course, Disney screensavers aren’t likely to ever go out of style, with kids or adults. From early works like the incredibly colorful Fantasia, to more recent animated and “real” movies like 101 Dalmations, the quality family programming offered by Disney over the years, has produced themes and characters with the kind of warmth and appeal that lasts forever.
