1. Be Organized. Every night you should list the tasks you want to accomplish the next day. This will give you an organized approach to each new day. When the task is completed check it off your list. By writing things down you are more likely to get them done. If you use a palm device or contact software that lists things such as appointments, clients, referrals, ect, you should make sure to keep it up to date, as you will be constantly adding to it.

2. Ask for things. With Internet marketing you do not have to wait around for business to come to your door. You can create your own business just by asking for it. Ask for business and you will be able to then close sales. You should ask for referrals then you will have a full list of possible clients. You should be aggressive but not obtrusive.

3. Expect no’s. You should know that when people say no to you in business it is not personal. Every no answer that you get will get you closer to receiving a yes. You should keep track of your no/yes ratio as it can help you in improving your techniques. You should also know that a “no” answer does not always mean “no” as sometimes a “no” is a stall tactic when the person needs to think more about it. It can be a request for more information about the product or service you are selling. What your possible client is looking for is assurance and you can assure them by using a helpful and honest attitude.

4. Schedule your time wisely. A schedule is a sort of a road map that can be a good barometer of how the business will travel. It can also take out some frustration from the workday. It ensures that the necessary tasks are accomplished and accomplished on time.

5. Have a separate office area. It is important that you create a separate and organized workspace in your home. With a separate workspace you can also be more productive.

6. Be involved. Know what is going on in your community in terms of the field you are in. Know what is going on and then you are able to network with other people that are in your chosen filed.

7. Learn how to handle your money in a smart way. A typical 9-5 job generally means that you will get a regular paycheck. When you have your own business you will be handling money constantly. You can deposit everything that you receive form clients into a separate checking account especially for your business. Considering that bank statements will show you a record of all the money that you collected and business expenses can be verified by checks that are cancelled your record keeping can be easy and very accurate.
